Statues at Queer Britain

You can now see two of the statues from put her forward at a new exhibition in London, We Are Queer Britain.

The UK’s first national LGBTQ+ museum in Granary Square, Kings Cross, London, features voices, objects and images from the worlds of activism, art, culture and social history covering over 100 years of queer life.

Amongst the artefacts are the two statues of Christine Burns MBE, trans activist and author of Trans Britain, and Lady Phyll, the founder of UK Black Pride. Christine and Lady Phyll were two of 25 publicly-nominated women of whom we made new statues in 2018 as part of our project with Heritage Open Days.

We are thrilled to see put her forward continuing to support the visibility of women and under-represented voices, especially in such good company!
