a thing worth keeping

”If you could only keep one thing, one object in your possession, what would it be?”

A lot of us have a lot of things. But what is it that makes us want to keep hold of this stuff? Perhaps it’s because of how valuable it is financially, historically, because of how you came to have it, because of the memories you have connected to it… or maybe something more?

a thing worth keeping is an audio journey for two people at a time, which took participants outside and around the New Vic Theatre in Stoke on Trent. Over the course of 40 minutes this interactive theatre experience considers value, worth and ownership, asking each person who takes part in it: what’s important to you?

a thing worth keeping ran every half hour from 11.30am to 6.30pm everyday (bar Sundays) from 20 June to 25 July 2015 at the New Vic Theatre. It was free and could be booked individually or as a pair. For more information and booking check out the special New Vic Hoard website
