ON THESE STREETS

“powerful, soulful and political”  THEATREFULLSTOP

In April 1981, the streets of Brixton became the heart of an uprising. 40 years later, these streets have much to tell us.

ON THESE STREETS is an interactive audio experience by non zero one through the streets of Brixton that invites you to witness, interact, and respond to the voices, stories, and legacy of the Uprising.

Writer Somalia Nonyé Seaton and Sound Artist XANA weave fiction with words from verbatim testimony, set within an immersive audio world of sound clash culture with the Dutch pot pressure of dub music spilling into the streets.

How it works

In this 90-minute immersive journey, participants travel through the streets of the uprising, guided by a smartphone experience developed by creative technology studio All Seeing Eye. Led through the streets by Paula, our guide, we witness testimony of the Uprising, its causes and effects, and have the opportunity to make a personal response.
