SEEDS nominated for Sycamore Gap commission
🗳️ And you can vote for your favourite proposal! 🗳️
We are super excited to share that non zero one have been shortlisted for the National Trust’s Sycamore Gap commission, creating a new artwork using wood retained from the Sycamore Gap tree. The tree stood for more than 120 years on Hadrian’s Wall and held deep meaning for local communities, visitors and people across the world. Its loss in 2023 was widely felt, and this commission represents an opportunity to honour its legacy and contribute to a thoughtful, hopeful response.
Our proposal, SEEDS, is a nationwide artwork where participants enter a lottery to receive a specially made sycamore seed and take part in an interactive experience, inviting them to connect with nature and consider our changing landscapes.
The National Trust is inviting the public to help select the final artist for the commission.
