ON THESE STREETS opens in Brixton on 27 August

We are thrilled to announce that ON THESE STREETS, a Brixton House commission, is a collaboration between non zero one, writer Somalia Nonyé Seaton and sound artist XANA, will be hitting the streets of Brixton from 27 August until 30 September. You can book your free slot here.

In April 1981, the streets of Brixton became the heart of an Uprising. 40 years later, these streets have much to tell us, with voices that still need to be heard.

ON THESE STREETS is an interactive audio experience through the streets of Brixton that invites you to witness, interact, and respond to the voices, stories, and legacy of the Uprising.

The immersive audio world features verbatim testimony from members of the Brixton community with lived experience of the 1981 Uprising and its after effects, taken from new interviews conducted as part of the project. All of this is mixed into a score of sound clash culture with the dutch pot pressure of dub music boiling over into the streets.
